Introduction:
With the ever-increasing healthcare costs, the expansion of interventions and processes, particularly in the domain of chronic and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), alongside the limitations in resources in this sector, underscores the necessity of focusing on various aspects of health economics in research and policymaking. The Health Economics Research Group at the Chronic Diseases Research Center, part of the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, was established with the aim of enhancing the generation of specialized evidence and serving as a consultant to various research teams in this domain.

Mission:
The mission of this research group is categorized into the following areas:

1. Expanding applied research in health management systems, policymaking, and health economics in the domain of chronic and non-communicable diseases.
2. Conducting fundamental, applied, and developmental research projects targeted at addressing challenges in health management and economics within various research cores of chronic and non-communicable diseases to improve evidence-based policymaking in the country.
3. Developing and expanding novel interdisciplinary research.
4. Facilitating the translation and application of research findings from the center to stakeholders and related organizations.
5. Collaborating with scientific and research institutions both nationally and internationally.
6. Providing scientific and technical consultation for related research programs.
7. Undertaking assignments delegated by the Research Affairs Office of the University and the Endocrinology and Metabolism Research Institute.
8. Offering research education and knowledge enhancement in the field of health economics for chronic and non-communicable diseases.
9. Establishing connections with the pharmaceutical and medical equipment industries and advocating for support and participation.
